MTBH Studios is a design-build firm creating modern luxury custom homes on Florida’s Gulf Coast. It exists on a simple premise: building an exceptional custom home takes both design judgment and operational discipline, and very few builders hold both.
Founding Partner and President Richard McGinniss is a residential design and construction expert with four decades at the top of the market. He began in Boston as project manager on the Ritz-Carlton Hotel & Residences and the Marriott Copley Square Hotel, later served as a vice president at Taylor Woodrow overseeing its $800 million portfolio of luxury towers including the Ritz-Carlton Residences in Sarasota, and led the $800 million-plus North Carolina Research Campus redevelopment. In Tampa Bay, as its first builder focused exclusively on modern contemporary homes, he has led the design and construction of more than 150 custom and semi-custom residences.
Partner and Managing Director Martin Hoeedholt brings the operational side. He spent more than twenty years in Fortune 500 consulting, most of them at Deloitte directing global data and technology transformation programs. A Florida Certified Building Contractor and certified Project Management Professional, he has brought that toolkit to residential construction.
Most custom-home problems live in the gap between the drawings and the build. The industry’s standard answer is a handoff. MTBH Studios refuses it: one team carries every home from first sketch to final key, and the person adjusting a design mid-build is the person who created it. The studio is CGC/CBC licensed and insured, and its work is concentrated in St. Petersburg’s Snell Isle and Old Northeast, Davis Islands and Hyde Park in Tampa, and the Bayshore Beautiful corridor.
